Phenomenal Docs?

What’s in a name?

One of the first things people ask me about is how we come up with the name. On first blush, yes, of course, our goal is to help create a world of phenomenal doctors! But to leave it at that would be to dismiss the all-important process of how we help physicians achieve consistent high performance.

So let’s dig a bit deeper.

The name is a deliberate double-take on the meaning of phenomenal.  Firstly, it reflects our interest in exploring the best practices of physicians by observing and documenting the practices of physicians who consistently perform at their best—the ones peer’s might describe as “phenomenal.”  By illuminating what it is they do to achieve high performance, we can help you develop real-world strategies to enhance your own practice.

The second meaning of phenomenal is taken from phenomenology—which is the study of lived experience. We invite high-performing physicians to share their wisdom with us. We then weave these lessons into useful tools, and processes that can be implemented by others. This site is committed to providing support and education directed at sharing the art of medical practice from the perspectives of performance enhancement, professional learning, and personal development.
