To focus and refocus effectively requires some understanding of who we are (e.g. what our dominant strengths and tendencies are--especially under pressure), what the attentional requirements are for a given task or situation, and the ability to manage our arousal level. Being mindful of those things allows us to bring a more ideal focus to any situation.
